English listening

The English Listening Lounge requires a paid subscription, which is really a small contribution that can be worth spending, since it is a very high quality site well worth using with your students. Each listening activity has an information box that contains the following helpful information: difficulty level, length in minutes and seconds, topic, gender of the person(s) doing the speaking, the rate of the words spoken in a word per minute count and the accent. The activities are broken down into advanced and regular listening activities. Advanced listening has activities on the following topics: sports & leisure, travel, foreign customs, education and good books. The regular listening menu has activities grouped around the following topics: shopping, travel, community service, education and amusing incidents. A great site well worth using.

Lyrics training

On this website you can choose videoclips sorted by authors, genre, album or name and select the level you want to train the lyrics that you will try to complete during the execution of the song.

English Central

This website offers a wide range of movie clips that can be sorted by actors, genre, direction, themes, etc, providing an easy way to search for material to use in the classroom.

Randall's listening lab

Randall's listening lab is a wonderful site. Listening activities are grouped into three levels: easy, medium and difficult. When you click on a listening activity you must have Real Audio installed on your computer to hear the activity.
